Practice Test & Online Exam

Medical Coding Certification Program

The Allied Prep medical coding program lets students learn medical coding online or in a classroom setting. This 24-week program is designed to leave students with all of the necessary knowledge to pass the AAPC exam, a nationally recognized certification exam for medical coders.

Medical coding is a skill set that is in high demand. To become a CPC – a certified professional coder – you do not need any sort of advanced degree. Instead, you need to be able to pass the AAPC exam. This exam measures students’ knowledge of current medical codes in use throughout hospitals, private practices, and health clinics nation-wide. These systems are used to translate diagnoses and procedures into easily recognizable codes for the purposes of billing.

The medical coding program covers three of the most used medical coding systems – CPT, HPCPCS, and ICD-10-CM. While you learn medical coding, this program will also teach you what to expect from a medical coder’s job. You’ll learn how to quickly and effectively look up codes that you are unfamiliar with, how to communicate with doctors, and how to work with medical billers.

As part of this program, you will have the opportunity to take multiple AAPC practice exams so that you know exactly what to expect from the real thing and can earn your certification the first time around. With your certificate in hand, you will be fully qualified for entry-level positions at all sorts of doctor’s offices.
